Therefore, to strengthen our team, we are looking for a Head of Engineering (m/f/d) who will lead and direct a team responsible for manufacturing engineering, supplier engineering & quality, industrial engineering and documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects and programs in area of responsibility and ensures necessary preliminary and follow up activities
- Identifies needs and/or gaps in manufacturing process and procedures landscape and pursues closure
- Establishes close collaboration with other departments, defines and enables clear handshakes, responsibilities and flawless execution
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to define Continuous Improvement Programs and drive for implementations
- Responsible to prepare and maintain qualification program for suppliers and key processes
- Defines and controls Key Performance Indicators for the teams in line with group and corporate requirements
- Improve manufacturing productivity, as measured for example by number of Non-Conformities (NC’s) at production floor, waste time and process optimization
- Manages BOM creation, configuration and change management
- Ensures compliance with company policies including
- Actively drives the teams to excel in areas of responsibility
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical) or physics
- Minimum 10 years of work experience
- Experience in managing an engineering team or department in a manufacturing high technology environment
- Experience working with suppliers on quality and process aspects
- Strong Analytical skills to define and measure organization performance and related KPIs
- Project management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Hands-on mentality and enjoys working in close collaboration with other teams and departments
- Experience in managing and controlling changes (change management)
- Very good German as well as English communication skills both written and verbal
