Roche Pharma International Informatics (PIIX) is a global organization fostering innovation across Roche. The PIIX Data and Analytics chapter (D&A) aims to bring end-to-end analytics to our partners. We use and develop cutting-edge algorithms to do now what patients need next.

PIIX D&A consists of talented and experienced Data Scientists and Analysts. We develop digital talents to become the best-in-class data and analytics organization in the world. While you will be working with a global team, your host is located in Mannheim.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You will understand and summarize the existing state-of-the-art in unsupervised machine learning and deep learning for image based data
• You will help develop a novel solution matching or surpassing the existing state-of-the-art for histopathological images
• You will work collaboratively with other senior developers ensuring highest quality and best practices standards of your work
• You will interact with other developers at Roche working on similar problems and finally present your solution to them
• You will ensure the solution you have developed becomes deployment-ready in a real-world application

Your profile

• You are currently enrolled at university (studying Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Bioinformatics or a similar degree) or in a gap year between degrees
• You are proficient in Python 3.x and have experience in modern-day machine learning and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and Keras
• You have a excellent understanding of Linear Algebra and Numpy
• You are excited about image-based data and have interest or experience in Computer Vision or Biomedical Image Analysis.
• You are proficient in written and spoken English and experienced in scientific writing
