Macquarie Asset Management Real Estate (MAM) is seeking a leader in the real estate sector with a transaction or brokerage background to lead our Core/Core-Plus transactions team in the German, CEE, and the Nordics regions. You would likely be a mid-career professional with solid track record of transaction experience in these regions, with an ambition to take on a leadership role.
If successful, you will lead growth across those regions by deploying capital and leading the existing team to support acquisition targets and generate significant value for MAM managed funds and SMAs.
Reporting to the Division Director for European Transactions, you will be responsible for all transaction related activity, including staffing, deal execution, and performance management. You will also oversee daily operations and leadership of the expanding team. In addition, you will be expected to create new capital deployment strategies and help source and execute new acquisitions working alongside asset management, portfolio management, and debt financing teams.
Your key responsibilities will require you to:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the German. CEE & Nordic markets across the different asset classes (including, but not exhaustively, offices, retail, logistics, and residential) to be able to lead and support the market officers in sourcing new investment opportunities matching the requirements of the different managed funds and to scale the MAM real estate business.
- Manage the respective market officers, and take the lead where needed, in driving acquisition processes through the various phases of origination and sourcing, structuring, underwriting, investment committee material preparation, and transaction documentation.
- Managing key transaction and business stakeholders and be a point of contact towards internal stakeholders such as portfolio or asset managers and provide market insight and advise and lead on internal and external recommendations.
- Managing divestment strategy for assets in accordance with business plans.
- Prepare market overviews, financial analysis and investment performance reports for internal and external stakeholders as required, and support the preparation of financial analysis for key asset-level capital events and investment decisions (for example, major leases, hold/sell strategy, etc)
- Help grow the existing MAM market network to create new business opportunities.
- Coordinate hiring and resource allocation with senior MAM Real Estate EMEA leadership.
- Ensure key asset challenges are addressed proactively, focusing resources as needed.
- Drive consistent and high-quality operational standards; foster best practices in acquiring and disposing managing office, retail, residential and logistics properties with input and direction of Investment Performance team.
- Commit to working towards MAMs' net zero pathway, and Work, Health & Safety targets.
- Represent MAM with key intermediaries, brokers, investors, competitors, institutions, industry peers, and external partners as a thought leader in the industry.
- Ensure the highest ethical standards in all of MAM's dealings.
To be the right individual you will likely be someone who wants to develop as a leader. You will also have a high achievement drive, be analytical and have entrepreneurial mindset. You will likely have expertise in both finance and real estate sectors across Europe (10+ years) and experience managing people, workstreams, and transactions. You will have a demonstrable track record of originating and leading large and complex transactions in multiple European markets, have an existing deep industry network, be a team player and strong communicator, and likely be fluent in English and German.

Munich, Germany preferred (or if elsewhere a willingness to travel to Munich regularly is required).
