to take over responsibility for commercial and pipeline small molecule development within Operations Science and Technology (S&T), Pharmaceutical Product Group.

In Detail you:

• As a Lead of analytical teams are responsible for analytical development strategy and execution for established and new products. You represent S&T Analytical Sciences within CMC project teams, direct experimental and project activities to achieve project goals to support new products' introduction (NPI) and established commercial products.
• Implement and apply a wide range of analytical chemistry techniques in the lab and lead teams of analytical scientists for method development, validation, transfer and monitoring analytical method performance as well as continuous improvements according to the development plan.
• Generate innovative ideas, introduce new analytical technologies and innovations to analytical chemistry labs for compound and particle identification and characterization, automatization, digitalization, data science, and data trending.
• Collaborate with other CMC functions in AbbVie globally to support drug substance and drug product development and manufacturing activities to ensure new product launches and commercial supply.
• Provide analytical leadership in commercial product investigations. Identify and resolve issues using analytical technologies and drug development experience. Interact with quality and manufacturing sites as the analytical lead in formulating decisions and present to management.
• Author and review key regulatory documents, laboratory data, technical memos, and reports.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar studies with at least 5 years of professional experience in Analytical Chemistry in a development laboratory in the pharma­ceutical industry.
• Experience in leading analytical projects as Analytical Lead within a CMC team setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with analytical method development, method validation, transfer and execution in a cGMP environment, e.g., HPLC, UPLC, Dissolution, KF, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS and/or ICP-MS spectroscopic techniques, and physicochemical characterization techniques is required.
• Experience in compound / particle identification and characterization by microscopic techniques, IR, SEM-EDX, LIBS and Raman is preferred.
• Experienced in laboratory systems (LIMS, ELN, NuGenesis) is preferred.
• Knowledge in relevant ICH and regulatory guidance is required, and experience in interactions with regulatory agencies is preferred.
• Mindset that drives scientific and technical excellence, nurtures and manages innovation and to reality demonstrating high affinity to lab IT, automatization, and digitalization approaches.
• Ability to interact well with diverse groups within function and build / maintain strong working relation­ships with internal and external collaborators to enable higher performance.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
