Primary Function of Position:
The position will be responsible for the design, development, release, deployment, documentation, and sustaining of automation and test/calibration fixtures including applications, algorithms, and utilities for the vision systems of multiport da Vinci Systems. The individual will be an integral part of the multiport vision test & automation team. This position is expected to have multidisciplinary skills and ability to understand vision systems from image sensors to 3D stereo visualization systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, release, deploy, and document software applications and fixtures for the automation and test/calibration of the vision systems for multiport da Vinci systems
- Support Intuitive’s vision product development and manufacturing process
- Work with design team to design, develop, document, and release software applications for comprehensive calibration and test of endoscopes and the accompanying vision systems according to product requirement specifications.
- Work with Intuitive’s embedded software teams to create applications and diagnostics to support calibration and testing of vision systems, including endoscopes.
- Ensure FDA and ISO compliance through release process, SQA, documentation, unit testing, peer reviews, and validation.
- Collaborate with the product team, hardware designers, and manufacturing engineers to streamline product calibration and diagnostics.
- Develop software infrastructure to ensure seamless software development and deployment
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in object-oriented programming.
- Experience with programing for imaging/vision systems, instruments, or equipment control/automation preferred.
- Proficient in C# and Python programming.
- Experience with software life cycle
- Experience with Matlab a plus
- Experience with cameras, image sensors, or image processing fundamentals a plus
- Ability to debug/troubleshoot/solve problems independently
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills in German and English with the ability to convey complex information clearly to different people in cross-functional teams.
- Capability to work independently and as a team to meet company and FDA requirements.
