Do you want to have an impact on the development of thermo-mechanical models and execution of simulations to assess deformation and stress of microelectronic products? Then join our development team in Regensburg as a Staff Engineer Thermo-Mechanical Simulation (f/m/div)*. In this role you will be part of an international team developing the heart of our leading-edge thermo-mechanical simulation and material characterization models.
In your new role you will:

  • Be responsible for development of thermo-mechanical models and execution of simulations to assess deformation and stress of microelectronic products
  • Perform simulation feasibility studies as well as sensitivity and optimization studies to find best thermo-mechanical design or material as well as best assembly process parameters
  • Compare simulation with experimental results, perform model calibration and make proposal of experimental tests for model verification
  • Support method development of thermo-mechanical simulation and material characterization, also in collaboration with external partners such as institutes or other industry partners
  • Support internal customers with simulation results to mitigate thermo-mechanical stress and ensure thermo-mechanical reliability of the products

Your Profile

Do you listen actively to the (internal and external) customer and consider his point of view, thoughts, and ideas? If you furthermore have a good sense for current trends and deduce potential improvements for the product as well as for simulation methodologies then you should join our team.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • A master degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, physics or a similar domain. Doctoral degree in one of these disciplines is a plus
  • More than 4 years experience with FEM simulation tools with focus on mechanics, with preference of Ansys or Abaqus
  • Knowledge in Material Analytics such as TMA, DMA and other mechanical tests as well as in non-linear elastic material behavior
  • Experience in thermo-mechanical modeling of semiconductor devices or packages is a plus
  • Experience with programming in Matlab or Python is a plus
  • Fluent English communication and presentation skills, German is a plus
