About the Team
The German Verticals team is responsible for the B2C & B2B business of eBay Germany (ebay.de). The team is organized by industries (‘Verticals’, such as Consumer Electronics, Home & Garden, Fashion, or Motors) and horizontal teams such as trading and planning functions.
We are currently recruiting for our Business & Industry Vertical team in Berlin / Dreilinden a
(Senior) Strategic Business Development Manager (m/f/d).
The Senior Strategic Business Development Manager will be part of a team of Category Managers and Trading Manager. Together with the Business & Industry team, the Senior Strategic Business Development Manager will develop multiple categories by building a strategy for eBay’s Business & Industrial categories as well as including execution aspects like optimizing operational cadences (insights, reporting, trading) and relationships with existing and new brands and retailers. The candidate will also define and lead wider, cross-functional and cross-category projects.
Responsibilities
Influence and execute a strategy for the category portfolio in a cross-organizational context
Analysis of inventory insights, product trends, market data, industry dynamics, buying trends and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and product improvements
Identify sourcing opportunities for relevant inventory to support execution of strategy including brand/seller acquisition
Build and strengthen relationships with sellers and manufacturers to identify and implement scaling opportunities
Identify and develop new partnership & business development opportunities
Manage business performance based on defined KPIs
Strategic Industry Relations: e.g. attending trade shows and fairs, events, conferences
Requirements
Native or fluent German and fluent English are a must have
5+ years of experience in (online) retail or B2B area, preferably in Business & Industry categories like Tools, Professional Equipment and Building Materials
Ability to influence a strategy and turn it into action
Ability and drive to work tactically as well as strategically to drive business performance
Excellent communication and presentation skills in large or small group settings
Ability to build rapport to internal and external stakeholders of any level (from operations to C-Level)
Great attitude with strong social skills
Very good analytical skills / thinking
